FR. THOMAS CHAKALAMATTATH

Prism Academy is blessed and immensely proud to be under the patronage of Rev. Fr Thomas Chakalamattath a renowned musician and mentor who is the recepient of the honorary fellowship award from Trinity college of Music, London (2019) & best teacher award from the Kerala ParentTeachers Association (2019).

Fr Thomas Chakalamattath, director of Chetana Music Academy, Kerala, India is one of the most respected and influential figures in the field of music education in India. In a career spanning over 3 decades he has mentored and guided many present day master musicians like Stephen Devassy, Frijo Francis, Ralfin Stefen to name a few. He is a postgraduate in Commerce and also hold Bachelors degree in Philosophy and Theology. He not only holds diploma in Western music but also has deep knowledge of Carnatic music and has high level cerification in Veena. In 2019, on December 5th, Trinity College awarded 5 people from various parts of the world with ‘Member of Trinity College’ recognition, Fr Thomas is the only Asian on that list. The recognition was given after considering his contributions to the field of music education.

Our instructors

Jessica Maria is a multi talented professional singer, vocal teacher, also a professional trumpet player with 10 years experience. She is a graduate from Amadeo Roldan Conservatory of Music. She was part of National symphony of Cuba, and with Chamber Orchestra of Havana, in classical music festival. She is a professional vocal teacher and teach from 5year old Child to 50year old enthusiast.

JESSICA MARIA

WESTERN VOCAL

Leonardo Turner is a Cuban Violinist with more than 10year experience as a violin instrumentalist and Teacher. He is a qualified teacher from the Esteban Salas Conservatory, and has closely worked with Several legends like maestro Daniel Guzman, and maestro Marcos TulionNino Wong. He also performed in several international events namely Universidad de Oriente, Fifa world cup 2022, Qatar.

LEONARDO TURNER

VIOLIN

Riaz Abdul is a certified music producer, composer and highly experienced educator with more than 17years experience as an instructor in Piano and Keyboard. He is a graduate in Indian Music,and has completed advanced grades in Piano Solo from Trinity College London. He also holds specialization certificates in Music production & Music Business from Berkley College of music. He has composed and produced music for Short Films, indpendent artists and various corporate companies including YAMAHA Music India.

RIAZ ABDUL

DEPARTMENT HEAD

Jaffer Hanifa is a renowned drummer, music director, and singer with over 3 decades of experience, collaborating with legendary artists like KS Chitra, Hariharan, Sankar Mahadevan. He holds the Asian record for Marathon drumming, an impressive 75 hours. With over 1500 stage performances, Jaffer is now a leading drummer having performed in countries like USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia & the Middle East.

Sarath Kumar is a sought after Guitarist and Music producer with more than 14years experience as an instructor in Guitar. He has worked as music producer for famous Music Director Mohan Sitara, composed background score for several movies and colloborated with popular singers,musicians on live shows and recordings. He has completed advanced grades in Plectrum & Classical Guitar from the Trinity college London, and also Advanced Guitar methods from Berkley college.

SARATH KUMAR

GUITAR

Umesh Sudhakar is a renowned Flutist & flute instructor with more than three decades experience in both Carnatic & Hindustani Classical music. Apart from being master at the flute he is also adept at playing the Saxophone & Nadhaswaram. He is an executive member of kerala Sangeeth Nadaka Academy. He has perfomed at numerous music, theatre and dance festivals across India, and has also conducted masterclasses and workshops as part of training orientation for TATA group with Lokadharmi team 2023.

UMESH SUDHAKAR

FLUTE

Kalamandalam Prathika is a prominent carnatic music teacher with Bachelors degree in Carnatic Musical arts from kerala Kalamandalam and has been mentored by famous artists like O.K. Ambika, Kollam Balamurali, and Tripunatura Venushankar. She is the founder of Omkara music academy, and has trained more than 200 student so far for various Kalolsavam, Chembai Sangeetholsavam, and Dhakshinamoorthy Sangeetholsavam.
